Style | Anita & Green Jumpsuit

I've temporarily tossed my jeans to one side - it's just far too hot for denim right now. Instead I've been wearing a lot of jumpsuits, mostly made from light materials to keep me cool when the temperature is high.

One of my go-to's is this khaki Anita & Green jumpsuit. My speciality lately is taking dressy items and making them wearable for every day so I paired the jumpsuit with a pair of Vans Old Skool sneakers (which you'll have noticed I've been wearing a lot lately) and a Fjallraven Kanken backpack.

Style | Lace & Beads

Topshop has stolen all of my coins of late. I'm on Oxford Street a lot and the Topshop store there is absolutely huge with so many brands that I'm always wandering in to buy a last-minute outfit. I've had a few formal events lately where my usual ultra-casual attire doesn't quite cut it so I've grabbed a few dressier pieces.

The latest addition is this cami top with pep hem from Manchester-based brand Lace & Beads. The label's speciality is embellished pieces, tulle dresses and floral embroidery - ideal for special occasions. When I need to be dressed up this top works well with a black midi skirt and heels but I purposely picked it to mix with the rest of my wardrobe when I don't need to be so formal. I wore it casually here with Topshop Mom jeans - my favourite cut of denim currently - and some crisp new Vans.

Style | Monki Dungaree Dress

Denim pieces account for most of my wardrobe but finding ones that actually fit properly, especially dungarees, has always been a bit of a challenge. In the past most brands of dungarees I've tried have been too baggy or fit awkwardly around the waist. I finally found  dungaree dress from cool Scandi fashion brand Monki last month and it fits perfectly.

As well as the fit, I love the bleach wash and rose gold button detailing. This lighter hue is definitely perfect for the warmer months and wore it with a loosely tucked in striped shirt from ASOS (an old favourite) and a pair of  from the Face Stockholm collection*.

Accessories-wise I always tend to keep things pretty minimal so only wore a couple of pieces here. I love anything with a classic, simple design and this sterling silver Link Bracelet* I received recently from Fiyah really fits the bill. If you're interested, the brand has also supplied a discount of 10% off orders when you use code 'FRESH'. The ring is an old favourite from Magpie on the Run, I'm pretty much always wearing it!

Style | Topshop Fluted Blouse

Blouses are almost entirely absent from my wardrobe currently. I've been too accustomed to buying tees but I really love exaggerated and floaty sleeves so I couldn't resist peachy number from Topshop. It's a beaut and I find it hard not to swish around (like an absolute idiot) in this.

It comes in a few other colours including black (which I usually gravitate towards) but I thought I'd try a different colour for once and I really love it. You may see me in more colour soon as a result...maybe.

It's so easy to dress up or down, like most of what I buy, but I've mostly been wearing this top casually. I have a habit of finding something I like and buying it in every colour - hence the addition of another a-line denim skirt here but I've also been wearing this blouse tucked into shredded mom jeans.

Style | Back in Black

Just as I was starting to retire my Winter clothes to the back of my wardrobe the sunny weather quickly faded back to grey and windy this weekend. As much as I'm itching for some more sun I do love having an excuse to throw on this faux fur aviator jacket from Topshop. I bought this jacket at the beginning of January and it has got me through so many cold Manchester days. The lining makes it so warm and cosy I've only really needed to wear a t-shirt underneath recently.

Jacket - | Top & Joggers - | Shoes - | Choker -

I've been trying to experiment with colour but I always gravitate back to black, hence the almost all black affair here. I can't help it, it's my comfort zone. Speaking of comfort, I'm pretty much always in slouchy, oversized fits now too. I've been wearing these ASOS White denim joggers almost constantly since I got them so I think I'm going to have to grab another pair. As usual the styling is simple and I teamed them here with a cropped polo and converse that have seen better days.

A tad sidenote but I just wanted to take a moment to thank the photographer who took these photos - Mike Burchardt aka . Style posts have always been few and far between on this blog mostly as I usually take a lot of my photos myself indoors where I don't have much space. It's that or have to pester my poor boyfriend to tear himself away from work or studying to take a few shots. I've always felt really awkward in front of the camera too and hated taking pictures in public (ironically) but in the last year my confidence has soared and I'm definitely excited to work with more photographers in the future.

Style | Jaded Manchester Mesh T-Shirt Dress

The grey and cold has finally started to ease off slightly lately which means I've been ditching the extra layers and showing (a little) more skin than usual. I've always been obsessed with mesh pieces and I've somehow managed to accumulate quite a collection. My favourite at the moment has to be this mesh shirt dress with embroidered detailing from Jaded Manchester. It's technically an ASOS Tall exclusive but I've found this fits my 5'6" frame perfectly and sits above my knees.

You all know by now that I like to keep styling pretty simple so I wore the dress over an old slip from Miss Selfridge and paired with a denim jacket and Puma Suede Hearts. The Jaded Manchester dress also works really well worn over a bralet and shorts so I think this will be one of my go-to pieces as the temperature (hopefully) heats up.

Style | Religion Shirt Dress

If my last style posts have indicated anything it's that I've been more comfortable in dresses lately than anything else. My latest purchase is this leaf print dress from Religion Clothing. It was a last-minute, payday-fuelled purchase but I absolutely love it. It's a little too big for me so I may have to give it a little nip and tuck but the oversized style has been helping me keep cool in the heat. I did initially buy this from ASOS (shocker) but it's since disappeared off the site and the only place I've seen it still in stock is . It's new for AW 2016 so it should pop up on a few other retailers soon!

Style | ASOS Floral Print Dress

I've been lazier than ever with styling this summer. I like to keep it simple generally but some days have been so humid here I don't feel like wearing much more than a loose dress and trainers. I bought this floral number from ASOS a little while ago. I don't usually like to wear much white (as I can be pretty clumsy with food) but I love the print and I do have a bit of thing for long dresses which cover the scars on my leg nicely.

I used my new compact camera (Canon EOS M3) for these shots and I'm still not crazy about the quality and the lighting is so off but I may just have to get over it to take more outfit pictures on the go.

Style | Monki Co-Ord

Let's just say I'm having a bit of a love affair with stripes lately. My wardrobe is filled with striped shirts, tees and a couple of dresses so when I saw this striped co-ord I knew I had to have it. The boxy shirt and fitted tube skirt complement each other so well and it's an easy outfit to throw on at the last minute. You know I like to keep styling simple so I only added a minimal choker, lace up heels (my fave), a couple of rings and a watch I always wear. Easy.

I still haven't mastered the art of indoor outfit photos or posing in public but I am hoping to do more style posts. I bought a new camera (the Canon EOS M3) which is way more portable than my chunky DSLR and whilst I'm not totally thrilled with the quality, it does make blogging on-the-go easier. I also recently started working for ASOS (see ) and I've felt this injection of excitement about beauty and style again which I'd kind of lost lately. I don't usually get too personal here but I quit my full-time job which I had for the past 3 years earlier this year to really pursue what I wanted. It was a hard decision to make and a lot of people made me really doubt myself as I took the leap without really having a backup. Now I know it was the best decision for me. I have more time to blog and I'm doing something that satisfies my need to be creative. My blog posts have been a bit sketchy lately in the midst of starting the new job but I'm hoping it'll be business as usual soon!

Style | Forever 21 Khaki Jacket

I show very little of my style on my blog but I'm hoping that's about to change. A couple of things have held me back in creating more style posts up until now - very few opportunities to actually shoot outdoors, a lack of space and lighting indoors to take full length shots and I started to scrutinise whether my personal style was actually 'fashionable'. I love blogging but the standard is so high in the blogging community that sometimes I forget that I really shouldn't put so much pressure on something I started for fun.

I've been dressing more casual lately in general and this Forever 21 jacket has been my go-to now it's warmer. I've mostly been wearing it with dainty camis like the one here and converse. I don't like trainers usually but I love a pair of converse sneakers and I've been collecting a few pairs in white as they go with almost everything. I've also finally got over not getting my legs out for two reasons - it has been gorgeously sunny in the UK and I've become almost entirely unbothered about the scarring on my legs which I've kept hidden for the past few years.

I have stretch marks (thanks puberty), dark knees and brown pitted scarring on my lower left leg but I've stopped caring. I'll admit my legs are starting to look more even now and my u-turn on hating my legs is partly due to the fact that I'm wearing tights here. I was sent some (£9)* way back in March but haven't worn them until the last couple of weeks. I'm wearing Ownbrown's lightest shade Amani which are darker than my skintone but as they're sheer you can barely even tell I'm wearing tights in person.

Top - | Jacket - | Shorts - | Tights - * | Shoes - | Rings - & * | Watch -

Primark has some tights which work great for medium or tanned skin but before I stumbled upon these for years I used to joke that creating a line of nude tights for darker skin was my billion dollar idea. I love that women like Ownbrown founder Nadine Njoko Peisker are finally taking it upon themselves to create products to solve the lack of diversity on the market currently. These Ownbrown tights are so comfortable, not overly shiny and are the right amount of sheer at 20 denier. I was sent a size large (which is a size bigger than I need according to the size guidelines) but they fit perfectly. You only get one pair in a pack which is a shame as I have a tendency to catch my nails on my tights. These have so far surprisingly survived 2 wears and (hand) washing so I'll be grabbing another pair as a back up.

Style | Forever 21 Checked Shirt & Chidora Wool Hat

I haven't put together a style post in so long which is surprising as I had a big cull of my possessions a little while ago and essentially ended up with an almost entirely new winter wardrobe. It really was out with the old and in with the new as I became tired of having stacks of clothes which I never wore. My style has always been simple but it's become more minimal as I've developed a capsule type wardrobe but on a fairly larger scale than your usual 30-something pieces (great inspo ).

Checked shirts, basic denim pieces and chunky winter warmers like this silk-lined wool hat by * are now staple items in my wardrobe for this season. I've been sticking to only buying items in the colours I'm most comfortable in too like black, navy, dark green, deep purple and grey. Overhauling my style has made pulling together an outfit so much easier, though I still have days where I feel like I have nothing to wear!

Whilst it's been pretty mild for a British November currently I know I'll be relying on my woollen items a lot more in a bid to stay warm this winter. However, anyone with naturally dry hair like me knows how parched our strands can feel from wearing wool hats everyday. As this  (£55) is silk-lined you can keep your head warm and your hair is protected from the outer wool material. This is the second hat which has been sent to me by Chidora and it's so well made with quality materials. My first hat is in perfect condition after 2 years, so if you're looking for cosy head gear which lasts and is gentle on your tresses, check out the company website.

Style | New Look 70s Style Maxi Dress

Having sun in Manchester always causes me chaos with with figuring out what to wear as most of my wardrobe accommodates windy, rainy weather. I've loved being able to wear maxis and sandals recently and this split side 70s style dress from is one of my favourites. I love the pattern which works surprisingly well with a number of pieces I have like this off-white blazer from  and  handbag.

Admittedly as I write this it's muggy but raining and cloudy outside. I ran a few errands earlier in a hooded jacket and all black converse which have seen better days, but I'm hoping to do more outfit posts soon which feature more of my British Summer style.
