Style | #FAMyWay

recently challenged me to style my own look for their FAMyWay campaign. The campaign is all about encouraging women to express themselves through streetwear and has championed a number of female creatives in the process.

I often style myself from the shoe up so with this look I started with a pair of burgundy platform Old Skool . The colour screams Autumnal to me so to carry this through the rest of the look I mixed it with a pair of heritage check dungarees. As the dungarees have an exposed detailing at the sides I added a classic logo tee underneath to complete the outfit and keep the streetwear influence.

You can see more snaps from the shoot and read the full interview on Foot Asylum Womens' blog 'The Lowdown'

Style | Adidas Co-Ord

Adidas is one of my favourite sports brands currently and as comfy casual is always the order of the day this jersey two-piece was always going to make it into my wardrobe. It's Adidas without being in your face about it and the embellished eye motif with trefoil logo adds something different - or at least it seems different to the girl with 6 very similar looking logo tees.

I'm planning to see out the rest of the (mildly) warm weather in this pair. On chillier days I just add a denim jacket. The heatwave has cooled off so we're past shorts weather and it's been one of those months where you have sunglasses, an umbrella and a jacket on hand just in case - in other words it's been utterly unpredictable.

Style | Okayla Jogsuit

80s fashion has been back in a big way this year and for a lot of the trends inspired by this era it's been a hard pass from me (shoulder pads and bum bags I'm looking at you). Pegged trousers and vintage-style sportswear however I've been into, massively, which you can probably guess from this outfit.

I shy away from wearing anything bright a lot but in the past few weeks my wardrobe has increasingly taken on more colours of the rainbow. I'm exaggerating, many new pieces are the same shades of blue, pink and yellow I'll admit but at least it's progress and a slide away from my habit of dressing head-to-toe in black.

This red two-piece jogsuit from * is amongst the bolder, colourful items. I love the fit most - it's comfortable without looking too cosy - and as there's a lot going on (for me at least) it doesn't really need much else worn with it so it ticks the easy to throw on box.

Style | Fila T-Shirt Dress

The heatwave is still on in Manchester so the layers are staying off and my outfits have become even simpler. A relaxed, comfy fit is usually high on the priority list too so it's not much of surprise this oversized Fila T-Shirt Dress made it into my wardrobe recently.

I've been collecting a lot of classic sports logo tees so this dress is the perfect alternative for when I don't want to wear jeans. Like most of my clothes this dress doesn't need much styling either so it's easy to throw on without much thought. Vans are still my go-to for footwear, so I couldn't help pair them with this dress, though I'm wearing my white pair here this time.

Style | Anita & Green Jumpsuit

I've temporarily tossed my jeans to one side - it's just far too hot for denim right now. Instead I've been wearing a lot of jumpsuits, mostly made from light materials to keep me cool when the temperature is high.

One of my go-to's is this khaki Anita & Green jumpsuit. My speciality lately is taking dressy items and making them wearable for every day so I paired the jumpsuit with a pair of Vans Old Skool sneakers (which you'll have noticed I've been wearing a lot lately) and a Fjallraven Kanken backpack.

Style | Lace & Beads

Topshop has stolen all of my coins of late. I'm on Oxford Street a lot and the Topshop store there is absolutely huge with so many brands that I'm always wandering in to buy a last-minute outfit. I've had a few formal events lately where my usual ultra-casual attire doesn't quite cut it so I've grabbed a few dressier pieces.

The latest addition is this cami top with pep hem from Manchester-based brand Lace & Beads. The label's speciality is embellished pieces, tulle dresses and floral embroidery - ideal for special occasions. When I need to be dressed up this top works well with a black midi skirt and heels but I purposely picked it to mix with the rest of my wardrobe when I don't need to be so formal. I wore it casually here with Topshop Mom jeans - my favourite cut of denim currently - and some crisp new Vans.

Style | Borrowing from the boys

I have a habit of buying men's shirts and jackets lately. It stems from a few years of pinching my boyfriend's clothes, much to his annoyance. I just love the simplicity of menswear and a boxy cosy fit. I spied men's yellow denim jacket recently on ASOS and the colour made me 'add to basket' real quick. I bought it in a small and it's still pretty huge as the fit is oversized but I'm in love with it and it definitely ticks the comfortable box!

I know us Brits always go on about the weather constantly but you can't blame us really. It's actually been warm enough in Manchester to brave bare legs again which has gotten me so excited for Summer. I love how uncomplicated style can be in the warmer months (as the city gets so humid and you can't wear more than a few pieces without overheating). I paired the jacket with a crop top and black denim skirt here as I still wanted to still keep the look feminine and Vans because they seem to go with everything!
