How To | Styling My Wig with Curlformers [Video]

I've been wearing my on and off over the past few days and the main way I style it is with . I've already written a post on this  but I didn't go into great detail about the process. The video below outlines exactly how I do it.

I'm using the  (also known as Long & Wide) in the video. It contains 40 Curlformers, 20 which twist clockwise and 20 which twist anti-clockwise (indicated by two different colours). These Curlformers work on hair up to 14 inches long so it's perfect for my wig which is about 11 inches. I bought this kit 4 years ago and I never liked using it on my own hair but it's so easy to get these in and out of my wig, creating gorgeous heatless curls.

This particular tutorial doesn't require many products, other than the Curlformers. I usually just use a little setting lotion mixed with water in a spray bottle to dampen the hair a little first. For more hold you can use hair spray afterwards. Have any questions? Let me know!

DivasWigs | Curly Lace Wig [Video]

I was sent this  curly unit* recently to review and I go through the pros and cons I've experienced so far in the below video.

I received wig in mid June but I haven’t worn it that much so this video is an initial review. So far I've been loving the curls and I’m really impressed by the quality. I'm happy to do an update in a few months if people are interested in seeing how the wig lasts over time. Unfortunately a lot of photos I took of the wig when I first received it were somehow deleted and DivasWigs don't seem to have a picture of the wig on their website. Luckily I still had some video footage which shows how the wig looked straight out of the box before I tweaked it.

The wig and contents are packaged in a white box with the brands logo. The wig itself comes in a hair net with some tissue padding to keep the shape, there's also a brush, wig cap and details of your wig order inside the box. For more details check out the video below.

As it's summer and this is so much hair I'm not sure how often I'll be wearing this wig but I'm planning to start protective styling with wigs again in the coming months. I really want to grow out my hair as fast as possible so I can chop off the last of my bone straight relaxed ends and the less I manipulate my hair the better!

How I care for my hair under wigs [Video]

I've been wearing my wig for about a month now and the latest video up on my YouTube channel is a run-down of how I care for my hair in braids under my wig. My routine is really simple and hasn't changed a huge amount from my usual routine, apart from styling of course! The main thing for me is making sure my hair stays moisturised.

Hair | Bob with Bangs

After weeks of indecisiveness I finally decided to cut bangs (a fringe) on my rpgshow unit. When I bought this wig my intention was always to have bangs but when I first cut the hair on the unit I hated it.

I only cut a little when I first got my wig which meant I had enough hair left at the front which I could sweep to the side or braid. I've been braiding the front a lot and as much as I love this look (see ), having to deal with trying to style my curly 'baby hairs' and putting concealer in my part to make it look realistic just wasn't for me. I didn't want to have any leave-out at all either as the whole point of me wearing a wig is to protect my own hair from everyday styling.

I wanted my bangs to be pretty textured and kind of wispy-looking so I relied on a lot of point-cutting (cutting upwards into the hair) to get this effect. I probably need to cut more off as it's still a little too long for me but I'm definitely happier with how the wig looks now. I actually cut my own hair in this exact style (quite) a few years ago when I was in my teens but I was so obsessed with my hair being perfectly straight I quickly got frustrated with having bangs. I'm excited to play with this wig and try different looks with the bangs though and I've pinned a few looks I want to try on my Pinterest .

Have you ever tried bangs/a fringe?

RPGShow Rihanna Full Lace Wig [Video]

For the past couple of weeks I've been wearing this wig which I bought from RPGShow. RPGShow are a hugely popular wig company, which is the main reason I decided to buy this wig.

Wig Specifications:
Hair Length: Straight 12"
Hair Colour: #2 Darkest Brown
Hair Texture: Yaki
Lace Colour: Light Brown
Cap Construction: Cap 3, Glueless Lace Cap
Cap Size: 1

I bought this from the  website as it was a lot cheaper for the same wig I wanted on the main  website. Also with the exchange rate it worked out at around £179. Admittedly, it was still an expensive purchase for me as I usually don't spend a lot on my hair, but I weighed up the other options available (both in the UK and abroad) and this seemed to work out as a reasonable price for the expectations I had. I wanted something that looked realistic and like it could be my own hair and it's really delivered. I love the quality too so in all it's been a worthwhile purchase for me and I'm hoping the wig should last me a long time.

There's more info on the wig in this video on my YouTube channel:
