Fluffy Twistout Tutorial [Video]

It's been a really long time since I've tried a twistout on my hair surprisingly as this used to be my go-to style. I stuck to only creating a few twists on wet hair and the result was big fluffed up curls. See the video below for how I did it.

HOTD | Twist Out Ponytail with braided front

I've been wearing my hair without the wigs recently and most days it's been my usual bun but it's causing so many tangles I've had to switch it up a little. I 3 strand twisted my hair Sunday night (there's a great tutorial by ) and I'm still taking advantage of the resulting loose, disheveled waves from when I took the twists out. Today I tried (and failed) to dutch braid the front as this area can tangle a lot but I'm not that great at braiding so it's pretty messy. Regardless, I tend to prefer 'worn in' styles so I thought I'd share a few snaps here.

Hairstyle | Big Fluffy Twist Out

Today I wore a twist out for the first time in months. I've not been able to wear a twist out in so long as the curls haven't lasted recently. I tried the 3 strand twist method this time around (instead of the 2 strand twist), twisting freshly washed hair before bed and unravelling this morning. I used  tutorial from Alyssa but I used tights as one of the 'strands' as shown in my braidout tutorial . It gave my hair the perfect definition at the ends, blending the multiple textures on my head.

It's already dark by the time I get home from work so the lighting in the snaps isn't the best, but you can get an idea of how big my hair is.

Ever since I started committing to my transition to texlaxed (more info ) my hair has so much more body and fullness. I don't think my hair has ever looked so thick. At the beginning of my transition, I must admit I felt a little overwhelmed by my thicker, fluffy (and seemingly gravity defying) strands. Now I can't wait to chop off my lifeless bone straight ends, though I'm not going to just yet.
